Marc E. Stewart, Attorney

Marc E. Stewart has represented injured clients from the moment he graduated from law school in 1999, earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Before opening his own firm in 2002, he served as an associate attorney with the Mallia Law Firm (Houston, Texas) which is recognized for its excellence in trial work. His legal focus has always been in the area of medical malpractice.

Mr. Stewart earned his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, from Texas A&M University. Prior to attending law school, he accumulated a wealth of real-life experience including working as a musician, marketing steel products, and serving as a legislative aid in the United States Congress. In his youth, he worked in the oil field industry with his father.

Mr. Stewart is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Arkansas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ).

In January, he opened a new office in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and now splits his time between Texas and Arkansas where he has parents and other family stretching from Texarkana to Little Rock.

Mr. Stewart is happily married to wife Lauron who is a marketing advisor and speaker. Together they have two young daughters.

Blake A. Deady, Attorney

Blake A. Deady graduated from Texas A&M University in 1998 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston in 2004. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas shortly following his graduation, and then to the U. S. Southern District of Texas, February, 2005. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Litigation Section of the State Bar of Texas, Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism, and the American Bar Association. He practices in the areas of litigation, medical malpractice, negligence, personal injury, and consumer law.

Upon graduating from Texas A&M, Mr. Deady accepted a one-year Pre-doctoral Fellowship position with the Texas Heart®, Institute (THI) at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. As a Fellow and research intern, Mr. Deady divided his time between Comparative Cardiovascular Pathology and the Cullen Cardiovascular Research Laboratories where he completed qualifications for FDA preclinical validation studies (GLP--Good Laboratory Practices). At the conclusion of his fellowship, THI offered Mr. Deady a Senior Research Assistant position where he became a member of a cardiovascular surgical research team investigating a variety of preclinical and clinical research endeavors. Such projects included the Jarvik 2000 FlowMaker®, the AbioCor® implantable replacement heart (the first completely self-contained total artificial heart), mechanical replacement valves, stem cell regeneration of ischemic myocardium, BioGlueå surgical adhesive, and near-infrared spectroscopy to monitor regional cerebral oxygen saturation during infrarenal aortic cross-clamping.

Mr. Deady's research culminated in a study evaluating antibody inhibition of the body's inflammation response to cardiopulmonary bypass which was conducted in the baboon model. When not in the surgical labs, Mr. Deady was part of a cardiovascular pathology research team integral in designing software used to microscopically evaluate atherosclerotic plaque and coronary stenosis.

Mr. Deady has co-authored two medical manuscripts accepted for publication, one in The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, over 20 medical abstracts and presentations, and personally presented research involving steroid-eluting cardiac pacemaker wires at the 46th Annual Conference of the American Society for Artificial Internal Organs in New York, June 2000.
